Bold Burl Wood

Do you know what makes a wooden piece stand out? Burl wood. If you aren’t familiar with burl wood it is a growth on the base of a tree that is knobby-looking. Stress from injury, fungus, a virus or insects cause the grain pattern to change. I just love that something that could be seen as a negative {stress} can be used to make beautiful pieces of furniture. We are waiting patiently for a dining table to come in for a client that is made of burl wood. It is going to be the showstopper of the space.
